Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust has approved another three grants at their meeting in February 2018.

Stratherrick Primary School has had a boom in pupil numbers, so they need to hire a bus to ensure all the children can attend the swimming sessions in Inverness.  The Trust has approved £1,400 to meet the cost of the bus hires for this session.

Steven Watson, Project Coordinator added ‘The Trust receives money from the operators of the different hydro and wind farms in Stratherrick.  When a grant is approved the money is taken from one of these funds and allocated to that project.’  In the case of the Stratherrick Primary School pupils swimming request, the funds have come from the SSE Glendoe Community Benefit Fund.

The second grant approval in this round was to the Stratherrick and Foyers Community Council to meet the costs of their Minute Secretary for the year ahead.  £1,215 was approved, which comes from the SSE Dunmaglass Windfarm Community Benefit Fund.

The third application to be approved was a Student Grant for Iona Macpherson.  Student Grants of £500 are one of the most popular of the grant schemes the Trust currently operates.  The money to fund this grant came from the Easter Aberchalder Partnership’s Community Benefit Fund.

Grant applications for the next round are still open — until 21 February 2018.  There are grant rounds every two months. See our Grants Webpage for application forms and advice.
