Community Apprenticeship Scheme

Download the apprenticeship poster here.

The Trust’s Community Apprenticeship Scheme aims to benefit local communities in the advancement of education, training or re-training among local unemployed people which accords with object no. 2 in our Articles of Association.

The scheme aims to place individuals of any age, living within the Stratherrick and Foyers area, into a 3 year apprenticeship programme with a local employer.  Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust will fund, by way of a grant, the costs of wages and some travel expenses directly to the employer up to a total of £7,000 per year.  This scheme is run in conjunction with our neighbouring community companies at Glengarry and Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston.

A good quality, well organised Apprenticeship will set up a local young person with skills and experience that will allow them to support themselves throughout their lives.  This is a great example of the sort of ‘Legacy’ projects that we are keen to promote and fund accordingly.

The Apprenticeship Scheme is administered by the Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company.

If you are an employer and would like to register an interest in the scheme or if you are or know someone who is interested in becoming an apprentice in the scheme, please contact Sharon Ferguson, the Apprentice Scheme’s Joint Administrator  by email –  contact@communitycompany.co.uk  or call Sharon on 01456 486771 for a discussion about the scheme.
